Homemade is an exhibition of new work by Niall de Buitléar made and shown in the artist’s home. Drawing is at the core of the work in the exhibition which includes painting, cut paper works, sculpture, and printmaking. The works cross media boundaries and include works that combine laser-engraved drawing with painting. While the work is abstract, representational elements have been introduced including in the Vessels series which explore variations on a drawing of an abstracted vessel.
Niall de Buitléar is an artist from and based in Dublin. Solo exhibitions of his work have been held at the RHA, Dublin; Pallas Projects, Dublin; the Wexford Arts Centre; 126, Galway; and the The Lab, Dublin. His work is in the collection of the Arts Council, the OPW and Fingal County Council. In 2020 he received an award from the Arts Council of Ireland to develop the online artwork Onym (www.onym.ie) and complete a residency at Graphic Print Studio supported by Fingal Arts Office. He is a previous winner of the Red Stables Irish Residential Studio Award; the Wexford Arts Centre's Emerging Visual Artist's Award; The Flax Art Studios Graduate Award; and numerous Artists Council Awards.
